Artist Profile: Jane Kelsey-Mapel
Ceramic Sculpture
Jane Kelsey-Mapel is known for her clay and mixed media figurative sculpture. Her work explores the human condition including a study of the similarities and contrasts between humans and animals.
After earning her MFA at the University of North Texas, Jane taught at Texas and Arizona colleges for over 35 years. She currently teaches ceramic figurative sculpture at the Shemer Art Center and the Mesa Arts Center. Her work is held in public collections, including the Racine Art Museum, the ASU Art Museum Ceramics Research Center and the Phoenix Airport Museum.
